Icon is a coming-of-age drama set in St. Petersburg, Florida, about skateboarder Sam (Parker Padgett), who’s struggling with potentially becoming a father with girlfriend Ana (Devon Hales), as he looks at himself with reflection and question the icons that have defined his life. The film also stars Julia Denton and Tony Demil. It’s directed by Tony Ahedo in his feature directorial debut (he also writes, produces and edits).
I was able to chat with Tony Ahedo (pictured on the left in the featured image) on this episode of The Filmcraziest Show, where we talked about how personal this story is to him as it’s based on many aspects of his own life experiences, how they handled the flashbacks visually, the casting process, the editing, how every road has led to his first feature film making Icon, as well as the premise of focusing on the male perspective during a pregnancy. We also chat about the music, some fun facts, and more in between.
You can listen to my conversation with Tony directly below or download it here.

Stayed tuned for more announcements on the film’s website.
