On this episode of Filmcraziest Interviews, I interview Colombian filmmaker Juan Diego Escobar Alzate (pictured in the featured image) about his debut feature film Luz: The Flower of Evil.
The story: Far into the mountains, in a community led by a preacher named El Señor, a new child supposed to be the new Messiah is brought to the community, and all he brings is destruction and redemption. The film stars Yuri Vargas, Jim Muñoz, Sharon Guzman, Conrado Osorio, Daniel Páez, Andrea Esquivel, Marcela Robledo and Johan Camacho.

Alzate talks about the religion of the film, the cinematography of it and what it’s like making a film in Colombia, and much more. He also spoke of an upcoming film, called Searching for the Black Rainbow, which is in the early stages of development, and he is pitching this film at Sitges Pitchbox (more info about that can be found here).
