Mama was a HUGE suprise. I dont think anyone expected that! I’d say that it speaks to the popularity of Jessica Chastain, but it outgrossed the wide opening of Chastain in a GOOD movie (ZDT) by almost $10mil. CRAZY how horror connects sometimes, isn’t it?
It blew my expectations out of the water! I didn’t think it’d hit anywhere near The Woman in Black’s $20 million, but it came $3 million shy of doubling Sinister’s $18 million… She’s awesome. It really can be crazy! Good experience either way though, it may be not be very original, but I was scared as hell half the time.
